About The Position

The Research Assistant will support the studies in the Damo Lab on the role of cancer immunotherapy in the dis-regulation of self-tolerance. This job will primarily involve in vivo research with mouse models of cancer. This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction. Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision. Performs other related work as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related life science field.
  • Experience with in vivo mouse work and multi-parameter immune cell analysis with flow cytometry and RNAseq.
  • Experience with coding and AI tools for analysis of complex datasets is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Breeding and genotyping of experimental mice.
  • Tumor cell culture and inoculation into experimental mice.
  • Treatment of experimental mice (for example, administration of immunotherapy).
  • Tumor growth measurement.
  • Organ collection and processing.
  • Immune cell analysis via spectral flow cytometry or transcriptomic analysis.
