Part-Time Research Assistant - Mechanical Engineering
About The Position
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a research assistant under the direction of Dr. Zoubeida Ounaies. This is a part-time position. The role involves monitoring and maintaining a calendar of tasks for deadlines and programming milestones for several projects simultaneously, centering communications including website updates, social media, maintenance of contact lists, and correspondence. The assistant will maintain regular contact with research partners abroad and nationally, set up meetings and webinars, maintain documents, and create and implement project timelines. Responsibilities also include collecting and analyzing data, contributing to manuscripts, and assisting with conducting research experiments.
Requirements
- Experience with working in an experimental lab
- Experience presenting and analyzing research results
- Problem-solve with critical thinking and in a self-starting manner
- Proactively address gaps in provided instructions
