Part-Time Research Assistant - Mechanical Engineering
About The Position
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a research assistant under the direction of Dr. Zoubeida Ounaies. This is a part-time position. The role involves monitoring and maintaining calendars for multiple projects, managing communications including website updates and social media, maintaining contact lists, and corresponding with research partners. The assistant will also be responsible for setting up meetings and webinars, maintaining documents, creating and implementing project timelines, collecting and analyzing data, contributing to manuscripts, and assisting with research experiments.
Requirements
- Experience with working in an experimental lab
- Experience presenting and analyzing research results
- Problem-solve with critical thinking and in a self-starting manner, proactively addressing gaps in provided instructions
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain a calendar of tasks for deadlines and programming milestones for several projects simultaneously
- Center communications, including website updates, social media, maintenance of contact lists, and correspondence
- Maintaining regular contact with our research partners abroad and nationally, setting up meetings and webinars, maintaining documents, and creating and implementing project timelines
- Collect and analyze data
- Contribute to manuscripts
- Assist with conducting research experiments
