The Center for Public Engagement with Science (CPES) in the UNC Institute for the Environment (UNC-IE) is seeking three undergraduate research assistants. CPES collaborates with faculty in environmental health sciences at UNC-Chapel Hill and NC Central University to support environmental health sciences research. These positions may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy, but UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Research Assistants will conduct literature reviews on environmental science/health topics, collect and analyze environmental science/health data, contribute to presentations of research findings, assist in developing and pilot testing educational materials, and coordinate logistics and support lab operations as needed. Participants will also engage in required research training, such as CITI training or training on Rigor and Reproducibility. These are in-person positions with weekly schedules ranging from 20 to 35 hours per week, determined in consultation with a supervisor. Some weekend and evening work, as well as some off-site travel, may be required.
