About The Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. The Research Assistant will learn a high performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods and simulation workflows needed for the research work. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up simulations, performing numerical simulations using in-house developed computer code, processing simulation results, creating research reports, and writing research papers for publication.

Requirements

• Able to work independently and remain task-driven
• Good computer programming skills
• Knowledge of computer simulation.
• Completed course work in ME306 and ME341.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
• Must be a UND student.
• Verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
• This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Learn high performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods and simulation workflows needed for the research work
• Prepare and setup simulation including geometry and mesh generation
• Perform numerical simulations using in-house developed computer code
• Process simulation results, create research report and write research paper for publication.
