About The Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position for UND students only. The role involves learning and utilizing a high-performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods for research work. Responsibilities include setting up simulations, running them using in-house developed code, processing results, and contributing to research reports and publications.

Requirements

• Able to work independently and remain task-driven
• Good computer programming skills
• Knowledge of computer simulation.
• Completed course work in ME306 and ME341.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
• This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Learn high performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods and simulation workflows needed for the research work
• Prepare and setup simulation including geometry and mesh generation
• Perform numerical simulations using in-house developed computer code
• Process simulation results, create research report and write research paper for publication.
