About The Position

Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, performs scientific investigative research in areas related to cancer biology. Ensures implementation of approved research program, adherence to research protocols, development and maintenance of study records. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: Researches literature in the field, participates in the design of experimental protocols and develops new procedures to carry out established research objectives. Conducts experiments using in vitro and or in vivo techniques; collects and analyzes data using statistical methodology. Specific tasks will include managing data, preparing and summarizing study results, and other tasks integral to research. The research assistant may have the opportunity to participate in generating presentations and reports as the data permit. Conducts experiments according to established protocols and research methodology using in vivo techniques on animal and/or human serum, and/or in vitro techniques including molecular biology, mammalian cell culture.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in the scientific field of the research being conducted.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated strong administrative skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills (familiarity with MS Office including Excel, statistical anlaysis software a plus).
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in molecular and cell biology, especially mammalian cell culture preferred.
