About The Position

The Research Assistant provides administrative, data management, and logistical support for research studies within the Endocrinology department. Working closely with the study team, principal investigators, and clinical staff, this role helps ensure studies run smoothly and in accordance with protocol and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant health, science, or research field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Prior experience in a clinical or academic research setting required
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with participants and families
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team
  • Proficiency with standard office and data management software

Nice To Haves

  • Family-facing experience in a healthcare setting an asset
  • Familiarity with REDCap or other study data management systems an asset
  • Experience with TANITA, ISCOLE, and CANTAB platforms an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist with participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling
  • Support informed consent processes, including sending, collecting, and processing consent forms and related documentation as needed
  • Assist with data entry, management, and quality checks in study databases (e.g., REDCap)
  • Prepare and organize study materials, questionnaires, and participant packages
  • Support coordination of study visits, including liaising with participants and families
  • Maintain accurate and organized study files and source documentation
  • Assist with literature searches, reference management, and manuscript/report preparation as needed
  • Support regulatory and ethics submissions and renewals
  • Attend study meetings and training sessions as required
  • Perform other study-related tasks as required, according to protocol and regulatory standards
  • Attend on-site weekend visits/clinics as required by study schedules
