Research Assistant - College of Engineering
About The Position
The Research Assistant will formulate liquid aerospace coatings. The work involves blending resins, solvents and additive chemicals using blending equipment to make liquid epoxy-based coatings for metal. They may measure basic properties of these formulations such as settling and viscosity. They will work as part of a multi person team. The specific compositions and blending procedures will be defined and provided to them by another professional in the team. This position will ensure that the coating formulations are produced on schedule and accurately. Work with small scale laboratory mixing equipment will be required. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 48 months of research experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Ability to work with small scale laboratory mixing equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Basic experience handling chemicals or resins.
- Experience making basic measurements.
