About The Position

Under general supervision, provides routine technical assistance with assigned and delegated tasks supporting research projects. Assists with or conducts scientific experiments and research projects of limited complexity, and collects, evaluates, and interprets data for clinical and diagnostic research. Performs clerical and technical duties in a research or clinical laboratory setting and carries out general laboratory maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a basic science or related field.
• Attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
• Ability to monitor concurrent projects in a research environment or laboratory schedule.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes or other email software.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine technical assistance with assigned and delegated tasks supporting research projects.
• Perform assigned clerical and technical duties in a research or clinical laboratory setting.
• Assist an investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments, and assays, including collecting data, preparing solutions, and setting up and maintaining equipment.
• Perform routine tests under the direction of a supervisor, manager, or higher-level technician.
• Assist with scientific experiments and research projects of limited complexity, including collecting, evaluating, and interpreting data.
• Carry out general laboratory maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
