This position is for the School of Public Health. Providence Housing Authority and Brown University School of Public Health’s Center for Heat, Health, and Aging Innovation and Research Solutions for Communities (CHAIRS-C) is seeking a dedicated Community Health Worker to support a community-based project focused on emergency preparedness for older adults. This role offers the opportunity to engage directly with Providence Housing Authority Carroll Tower residents, build trusted relationships, and contribute to meaningful, community-driven public health initiatives. The Community Health Worker will work in partnership with Providence Housing Authority and the CHAIRS-C staff to support a pilot program on preparing for weather-related emergencies. This is a part-time position, estimated at 5–10 hours per week. The Community Health Worker will serve as a key liaison between residents and staff, ensuring that community voices are heard and reflected in the development of the project. This includes translating materials, facilitating group discussions, and helping residents access relevant resources and information. This position is Hybrid Eligible. All offers of employment are contingent upon a criminal background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown University. This is a fixed term position with an end date of 06/30/2027 which may be extended based upon available funding.
