About The Position

The Research Assistant provides skilled administrative and technical support for faculty research. The role involves assistance across various phases of research projects, including data analysis, literature reviews, and software use. The RA may also assist in preparing proposals for funding agencies, managing research-related tools, and coordinating with faculty and other research personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, computer science, or another relevant quantitative field .
  • No previous work or research experience required.
  • Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
  • Advanced coding skills in at least one or more of the following: Python, SAS, STATA, Matlab, or related statistical packages.
  • Strong attention to detail and high ethical standards.
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills as needed.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and think critically — not just carry out instructions.

  • Interest in pursuing a PhD in finance, economics, statistics, computer science, or related field.
  • Strong data analytics skills.
  • Consistency maintaining integrity and trust in all professional interactions.
  • Exercise discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of research design across multiple research projects.
  • RAs should expect to work on at least two projects at any given time.
  • Retrieves and keeps detailed records of data used in research
  • Assists in the installation and operation of research software
  • Conduct data analysis, statistical modeling, and technical evaluation of experimental results
  • Evaluate and summarize estimation results.
  • When not assigned to specific research projects, and if time permits, support faculty with short-term research-related tasks.
  • These may include, but are not limited to: data retrieval, literature reviews, paper editing, and mentoring junior RAs.
