About The Position

The Research Assistant performs a variety of accurate laboratory and clinical data collection, measurement, entry and retrieval procedures in a research setting involving human and/or small animal subjects, completes forms relevant to research and related equipment. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree required.
  • Able to keyboard 40 wpm.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.
  • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Think critically.
  • Manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Organize and prioritize workload.

  • Complete and maintain Loma Linda University Human Studies Education and satisfactory completion of required IACUC-Animal Care and Use Training Program and Radiation Safety Training (if applicable) within 30 days of hire and through Animal Care Facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years of academic laboratory experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Working knowledge of statistical, database and graphic applications preferred.
