Requirements
- B.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or closely related field.
- Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
- Good interpersonal skills, professionalism and competency.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
- Design, perform and analyze experiments to study the structure/function relationships of assigned proteins.
- Cloning and expression of proteins of interest.
- Purification of proteins in sufficient quantity to obtain crystals.
- Crystallization of proteins.
- Data collection and analysis.
- Conducting NMR experiments on the prepared protein samples.
- Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.
- Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results.
- Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.
- Assists with laboratory management of stocks, supplies and equipment.
- Assists with reports, invoices, and cataloging records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
