About The Position

We are seeking a Research Assistant who will oversee data collection, data organization, and/or data management or similar functions/tasks for research study(ies) in support of a PI or a research team. This position involves conducting semi-structured in-depth interviews (IDIs) with various stakeholders, including Navajo Nation WIC staff, participants, partners, and tribal leaders. Key responsibilities include maintaining qualitative data records, leading the coding and analysis processes, and developing data collection tools. The role also encompasses transcript verification and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data. Additionally, there is a focus on writing qualitative methods and results for various reports and publications, alongside contributing to the analysis and interpretation of qualitative data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee data collection, data organization, and/or data management for research study(ies).
  • Conduct semi-structured in-depth interviews (IDIs) with various stakeholders, including Navajo Nation WIC staff, participants, partners, and tribal leaders.
  • Maintain qualitative data records.
  • Lead the coding and analysis processes for qualitative data.
  • Develop data collection tools.

  • Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of qualitative data.
  • Run routine and ad hoc reports.

  • Lead specific tasks and develop processes to ensure study activities occur effectively and efficiently.
  • Conduct literature searches to support faculty in research efforts.
  • Design and format papers/publications.
  • Assist PIs in writing summaries of papers for release as policy briefs or other channels.
  • Regular participation in weekly team meetings.
  • Co-authoring all reports and manuscripts for publication.
  • Leading coding and analysis of qualitative data from IDIs, including management of qualitative analysis process (e.g., organizing meetings with other RAs involved with coding, tracking changes to the codebook).
  • Support writing of qualitative methods and results for reports to funders, policy briefs, and manuscripts and presentations.
