About The Position

This position requires to work in person and remote. The Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute is looking to hire one paid research assistant (RA) for the six to nine months. RA would be expected to commit to at least 20 hours of work per week while projects are active. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. Dr. Boyd conducts research that includes analysis of parent-child interaction videos from multiple funded projects related to the development of autistic children. Videos will be coded related to child communication and social behaviors. RA will assist with coding research tasks; these tasks may evolve, but the work initially consists of coding research videos. The primary skills needed for this work are attention to detail and consistency; there are no prerequisites, but experience with autistic individuals is preferred. RAs with advanced skill sets may have opportunities to take on more challenging tasks as research projects develop. As part of the RA work, we would discuss the development of these projects and the process of academic research.
