About The Position

The Global Mental Health & Flourishing Lab is seeking a service-minded, detailed-oriented, and enthusiastic Research Assistant (RA) to support ongoing research projects. The role involves approximately 50-60% of the RA’s time dedicated to systematic reviews and meta-analyses, including literature searches, study coding, data analysis, and manuscript writing for a public-facing data repository of mindfulness and integrative medicine interventions. The RA will also support other global mental health research projects, which may include creating materials for mindfulness-based interventions for various populations (youth, sexual and gender minorities, Ukrainians displaced by war, etc.) and analyzing ecological momentary assessment/intervention and longitudinal cohort data. Other duties include analyzing quantitative data and assisting with manuscript preparation and publishing. This is a fixed-term position with a current end date of 5/31/2027, potentially extendable based on funding. A minimum commitment of 1 year (100% FTE) is required, with a 2-year commitment preferred. Renewal for several years is possible based on progress and funding. All offers are contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check and education verification. This position is hybrid-eligible.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in psychology, social work, public health, community health or related field.
  • 1-2+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in person and via email.
  • Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects at the same time, including setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong ability in reading and coding scientific literature and studies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Efficient time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in statistical software (R or Python preferred).
  • Proficiency in survey software (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics).
  • Proficiency in academic writing.
  • Experience managing databases.
  • Training and experience in mindfulness and/or mental health research or interventions.
  • Familiarity with APA formatting.
  • Strong skills in quantitative data analysis.
  • Prior experience in conducting quantitative data analysis with large datasets.
  • Strong aptitude for data analysis.
  • Experience with and interest (personal and professional) in mental health.

Responsibilities
