About The Position

Applications are invited for a part-time research assistant position in the Security of Software (SOS) Lab at Penn State. The SOS Lab focuses on methodologies that help create secure software systems. We are seeking a highly qualified individual to work in the area of software security, especially on topics including probabilistic program verification, program analysis and optimizations, and compiler-based software security. The position is part-time. Penn State is a major research university ranked 3rd in U.S. in industry-sponsored research. The CSE department is ranked 8th in U.S. in research expenditures and has strong research programs in security. The U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks Penn State's College of Engineering undergraduate and graduate programs among the top in the nation.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Strong background in computer security, programming languages, or formal methods.

Responsibilities

• Work in the area of software security, especially on topics including probabilistic program verification, program analysis and optimizations, and compiler-based software security.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
