About The Position
The SDSU Research Foundation is seeking a Research Assistant to support research activities. This role involves performing molecular biology techniques, assisting with field and laboratory work, participating in research and reporting, and carrying out general lab duties to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and efficient lab operations.
Requirements
- Completion of sufficient lower division coursework
- Equivalent of one year related experience in lieu of coursework
Responsibilities
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, conventional and real-time PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
- Assist with field sampling, sample processing and analysis using molecular and analytical instruments.
- Participate in data collection and setting up experiments, organize and analyze data, write and report following the P’s supervision.
- Ensure the lab complies with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, maintain a clean and organized lab, ensure equipment calibration and instrument maintenance, manage inventory, prepare lab stocks, order materials, and prepare solutions and media plates.
