About The Position

This position is available only to enrolled American University students. Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions. FWS funds cannot be applied to janitorial, construction, partisan or sectarian positions. In this position, you will work closely with a professor to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses for a project studying the role of state-level Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) regulations.

Requirements

  • Good academic standing with a strong GPA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies, data analysis, and literature review.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous research experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting qualitative research to compare and contrast state-level CRA requirements.
  • Collecting data for quantitative analysis.
  • Writing code to clean the data and conduct preliminary analyses.
  • Assisting in preparation of written material and presentations.
