About The Position

The Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Florida invites applications for a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor position in the Division of Biomedical Informatics. The successful candidate will lead and collaborate on data-intensive research projects involving real-world data, including electronic health records and Medicaid claims. The position provides opportunities to contribute to NIH- and PCORI-funded initiatives, advance methods in biomedical informatics and health outcomes research, and support the department’s growing research portfolio. The Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Florida conducts innovative research to promote population health, improve healthcare delivery and outcomes, advance health research, and address health disparities. The Division of Biomedical Informatics focuses on leveraging data to improve health outcomes, healthcare delivery, and health policy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in outcomes research and real-world data analytics, with a strong publication record.
  • Proficiency in advanced data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative research.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support research projects focused on real-world data analytics, health outcomes modeling, and biomedical informatics.
  • Develop and apply advanced statistical and machine-learning methodologies to address complex health outcomes.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of research studies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Prepare and submit research proposals to secure external funding.
  • Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
  • Mentor graduate students and contribute to the academic mission of the department.
