About The Position

The Research Assistant in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory will contribute to ongoing research by performing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting with the preparation of reports and publications. This position provides hands-on experience in the area of mammalian development while working closely with faculty and research team members to ensure adherence to study protocols and the accuracy of research data.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment and materials.
  • Support preparation and execution of experiments and sample collection.
  • Record observations and ensure proper labeling, storage, and data backup.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist research staff with study setup, daily operations, and project follow-ups.
  • Prepare and organize study materials, including packets, forms, and documentation.
  • Schedule study-related activities and help manage project timelines.
  • Maintain inventory of study supplies and support ordering processes.
  • Accurately collect, enter, and maintain research data in electronic and paper-based systems.
  • Review research documents, such as protocols, data collection forms, Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.
  • Ensure proper documentation and organization of study records, project binders, and data collection forms.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with institutional and project guidelines.
  • Prepare documentation for audits, reviews, or sponsor site visits.
  • Track study milestones, recruitment status, and project progress.
  • Maintain study logs and organize project-related correspondence.
  • Support the research team in coordinating meetings, taking minutes, and preparing reports.
