About The Position

Join our team in a dynamic and patient-focused role supporting both clinical care and cutting-edge research. As a Research Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by assisting with examinations, conducting preliminary testing, and supporting research study participants in accordance with physician direction and study protocols.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Knowledge of proper, safe, and efficient use of medical and office equipment
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with physicians and staff
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Strong computer proficiency and typing skills
  • Understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy of the eye
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a medical office is desirable
  • Willingness to travel to other satellite locations as needed

Responsibilities

  • Conduct standardized visual acuity testing for research participants in alignment with study-specific protocols
  • Escort patients to and from exam areas, including assisting with mobility needs such as walking or wheelchair transport
  • Accurately perform and document required testing, patient health histories, and medication information
  • Provide patients with clear and helpful information regarding their eye care
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians to support patient satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned
