About The Position

The Research Assistant III assists with research work tasks of higher-complexity in support of a research project under minimal supervision. May assist with ordering equipment and supplies, set up of equipment, performing experiments, monitoring results, data collection, preparation of support materials, etc. May supervise students and/or other support workers assigned to the research project. This role specifically coordinates day-to-day activities of the HRSA SANE Nurse Training Program for West Central Alabama grant. Responsibilities include communicating regularly with community partners, trainees and staff, preparing correspondence, maintaining records, creating and maintaining charts, graphs, spreadsheets and databases, scheduling calendars and meetings as requested on behalf of the Project Director, coordinating events with community partners, assisting with trainee recruitment, and managing grant funds, requesting invoices for processing and keeping records of project expenditures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of research support experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher and some research support experience.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • At least 19 years of age at time of hire.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in virtual, phone, and in person formats.
  • Ability to interact with faculty, trainees, staff and community partners at all levels with professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
