About The Position

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics seeks a Research Assistant II to assist with an ongoing NIH research project examining the impact of diet and environmental toxins exposures in liver injury models. This role requires education and skills in R and Python programming, PCR, tissue culture, western blotting for proteins, confocal microscopy, and RNA-seq data analysis experience.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field and one (1) or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills in R and Python programming
  • PCR
  • Tissue culture
  • Western blotting for proteins
  • Confocal microscopy
  • RNA-seq data analysis experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Genomic Medicine or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with Principal Investigator and team on efficient, ongoing operations and quality control equipment.
  • Support fellow lab members and collaborators in their research.
  • Keep detailed records and work proficiently with a database.
  • In collaboration with Principal Investigator establish new, and modify existing, standard operating procedures.
