About The Position

A full-time Research Assistant I position is available to work in the lab of Dr. Andrew Gillis in the Bay Paul Center for Comparative Molecular Biology and Evolution at the MBL. The RA1 will assist with research on a NSF-funded research project on the development of the lateral line system of cartilaginous fishes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in biology
  • Relevant research experience
  • Experience with basic wet lab techniques, including histology and microscopy
  • Experience in the lab with careful handling of animals

Responsibilities

  • Tissue preparation (dissection, fixation and embedding)
  • Histology
  • Microscopy (light and fluorescence microscopy)
  • Animal husbandry
