Lab Research Analyst I
About The Position
The Duke Comparative Oncology Group, in conjunction with the Department of Orthopaedics at Duke University Medical Center, is seeking a Lab Research Analyst I to work at the nexus of comparative evolutionary biology and cancer. The Lab Analyst I will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, veterinarians, and PhD researchers who use a cross-species comparative approach to understanding and treating cancer. This is an opportunity to join an extremely energetic and fun research group. We explore unanswered questions in the fields of cancer research and plastic waste/pollution. Many people have worked in this position prior to being accepted to medical or graduate school.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology, or other directly related scientific field.
- Two years of research experience. A related master’s degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two-year master’s degree in lieu of two years of experience.

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate students basic laboratory techniques.
- Conduct basic benchtop experimental work.
- Basic statistical analysis of data.
- Organize a weekly laboratory meeting.
