About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is a collaborative health care organization focused on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans through its unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs. The Research Assistant is responsible for executing clinical research projects, chart reviews, and other projects within the Department of Otolaryngology. This position involves working closely with faculty to develop and execute projects, writing research papers, articles or abstracts, and potentially presenting findings at meetings, both virtual and in person.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry or related field
1 year of research experience

Responsibilities

Assist faculty with the development, coordination, and execution of clinical research projects within the Department of Otolaryngology
Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and ensure accurate data collection, entry, and management
Analyze research data and assist in interpreting results for ongoing studies
Support the preparation of research manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and scholarly articles
Collaborate with faculty and research team members to ensure project timelines and objectives are met
Maintain organized and compliant research documentation in accordance with institutional and regulatory guidelines
Assist with literature reviews to support study design and publication efforts
Participate in research meetings and contribute to project discussions and updates
Present research findings at departmental meetings, conferences, or other professional venues (virtual or in person)
Perform other research-related duties as assigned
