About The Position

The Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology (IBP) is interested in the cell biology, physiology and pharmacology of cell regulation and communication. Our major research themes include the molecular mechanisms and spatiotemporal dynamics of membrane signaling, intracellular and metabolic signaling, the biology and physiology of cell-cell interactions, and the use of computational, structural and systems approaches to decipher signaling networks. This is a Part-Time, Benefits eligible position.

Responsibilities

  • Performs laboratory experiments and activities to support research objectives.
  • Collects, organizes and prepares research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed.
  • Maintains clean laboratory equipment and/or work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Orders laboratory and/or other supplies as directed by senior research staff.
  • Stays abreast of new and updated procedures and protocols for the research laboratory. Must maintain compliance with required training. May participate in continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops.
  • As needed, may coordinate the work of technicians to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Organize and maintain the lab (order, manage supplies and animals).
  • Provide care to the animals.
  • Participate to experiments (that includes cell culture for electrophysiology, behavioral assays on rodents), data analysis and neuronal cultures aiming at identifying therapeutical targets to treat chronic pain after injury.
