The Department of Ophthalmology at West Virginia University is seeking a Research Assistant I. This position will support Dr. Joel Palko's research, which focuses on the role of ocular blood flow and ocular biomechanics in diseases such as glaucoma. The lab utilizes high-frequency ultrasound technology and custom ultrasound localization microscopy and elastography methods to measure ocular blood flow and scleral biomechanics. The research is primarily focused on how manipulations of scleral biomechanics and ocular blood flow influence glaucoma disease progression. Additionally, research is conducted on iris registration, investigating how ocular diseases and iris shape alter this identification technique.
