Research Assistant 2
About The Position
Assists graduate students and postdocs with their research projects for Environment Canada and IVADO – Environment Group. These are scientific grants focused on the study of the impact of climate change on Canadian Biodiversity, involving several associated postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. The role includes assisting with the writing of scientific components of grant reports, preparing text, and modifying graphics from publications. It also involves assisting with writing and editing manuscripts, including revising text, recreating figures, and incorporating references. Additionally, the position entails developing and maintaining documentation for the lab’s data repository, collaborating with graduate students to ensure proper organization, accessibility, and reproducibility of files and code, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and postdoctoral coordinators. The role also includes preparing research summaries for the lab’s website and social media platform on research outputs such as publications, reports, and research activities.
Requirements
- Adaptability and a quick learning ability to understand diverse subjects in ecology, biodiversity, and data science.
- Maturity, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing biodiversity conservation efforts.
- Experience in Conservation, Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour.
- Master's degree in biology or equivalent.
