About The Position

This position is for a Research Assistant 2 to assist in participant recruitment and data acquisition, as well as manage day-to-day operations for a new study launched in September 2025. The role involves data management and cleaning using statistical software (Stata, SAS, and/or R), performing statistical analyses for studies led by the Division of Cancer Epidemiology, and producing written/tabular/visual materials for research reports/manuscripts/presentations. The assistant will also support students and staff in conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and perform routine administrative duties such as managing the Division’s website, social media platforms, office space, and biobank storage, as well as McGill24 fundraising activities. Study initiation activities include preparing ethics approval submissions, consent forms, questionnaires, and study manuals. The position requires attending, participating, and presenting in team meetings and seminars held at the Division of Cancer Epidemiology.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in epidemiology
  • Proficiency with advanced methods of statistical analysis of epidemiologic data (essential)
  • Proficiency with common statistical software (Stata, SAS, and/or R) (essential)
  • General knowledge of common epidemiological and clinical study designs (randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, case-control studies, cross-sectional studies) (essential)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (essential)
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec
  • English communication both verbally and in writing

  • Experience in cancer research (preferred)

Responsibilities

Benefits
