McGill University - The Neuro Early Drug Discovery Unit (NeuroEDDU) (Durcan) is looking for a Research Assistant for a Full-time position for one year, renewable. The NeuroEDDU is looking for a Full-time research assistant to participate in ongoing research projects. The group uses induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and iPSC-derived neurons to study the molecular basis of neurological diseases. They develop new tools and assays that will be integrated with preclinical drug screens to identify potential therapies for disorders like Parkinson’s and ALS. They work to bring their assays with iPSC-derived cells into screenable 2D and 3D formats. The candidate will perform daily induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) maintenance as well as tasks relating to line validation. The candidate will also provide support for organoids culture. The tasks include generation and maintenance of organoids as well as processing of tissue for downstream applications. The candidate will assist with writing research protocols, literature reviews, and grant preparation. The candidate will also ensure data management, including entry, analysis, interpretation and presentation.
