About The Position

The Research Assistant 1 contributes to research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. The role also performs clerical work to support smooth office operations. Specific duties may vary according to departmental needs, and other consistent duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience, certification, or license.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team environment.
• Proficiency with office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate scientific apparatus and make minor repairs.
• Prepare correspondence and answer phones.
• Formulate and maintain bibliographies and complete applications and forms.
• Order laboratory supplies and maintain culture media reagents.
• Review and edit materials for publication and prepare publication schedules.
• Maintain appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks.
• Follow University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
