About The Position

The Geriatric Mental Health Services (GMHS) team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is at the forefront of advancing mental health care for older adults. We specialize in inter-professional assessment, treatment, consultation, and follow-up services tailored to the unique needs of this population. GMHS is driven by a robust research program focused on understanding the variability in treatment responses among older adults. By exploring innovative approaches with medications and non-pharmacological treatments, we aim to enhance therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse effects in late-life mental health care. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated full-time, contract (12 months) Research Assistant to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in advancing cutting-edge research that makes a tangible difference in the lives of older adults living with cognitive and mental illness. You will be contributing to a body of work that does not just advance scientific knowledge but also shapes the care that people receive during some of the most vulnerable stages of their lives. Through its core values of Courage, Respect and Excellence, CAMH is implementing its Strategic Plan: Connected CAMH, to transform lives, ignite innovation and discovery, revolutionize education and drive social change. CAMH is more than a hospital, it is a cause. CAMH is on a mission to change the way society thinks about and responds to mental illness. They aim to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and shape a world where mental illness is central to our healthcare system – a world where Mental Health is Health.
