About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the operation of a specialized educational/social science research area within a recognized unit. The role assists with research project tasks, including recruitment, data collection, and the day-to-day operations of research projects. This position may be used as a floater or to assist in coverage gaps. Candidates must obtain University Hospital (UH) credentials within six months of employment as a condition for continued employment.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes/other email software.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.
• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting research projects according to the research plan/project.
• Performs duties in support of research project such as scheduling research subjects, obtaining research data, organizing data, researching records and entering data in a research database.
• Assist in conducting literature reviews and maintains information.
• Assists in the maintenance of information and literature, and keeps current on literature and developments in the areas of research.
• Prepares materials for publication.
• Trains and guides other lower level research support personnel in techniques; explains and demonstrates instrument capabilities, operations, limitations and outcomes.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
