About The Position

Monash University is seeking a Research and Project Manager to support world-class research in the Faculty of Pharmacy & Pharmacology. This role is a maternity leave replacement for a 15-month fixed-term appointment. The successful candidate will lead development and support activities for research funding, acting as an expert in national research funding programs such as ARC, NHMRC, and MRFF, as well as advising on international programs. Responsibilities include assisting researchers in identifying funding opportunities, managing the faculty's research development and application review processes, overseeing applications through research management systems, and liaising with the Monash Research Office. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and running faculty research events like MIPS Seminars, annual research symposia, and researcher training workshops. The position is part of a small, high-performing Faculty Research Office, requiring an adaptive and collaborative approach.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with national research funding programs, either through administration or as an applicant
  • Experience as a researcher in the health, pharmaceutical or biomedical sciences (encouraged to apply for transition to research administration and management)

Responsibilities

  • Support researchers to identify suitable opportunities
  • Manage Faculty research development and application review processes
  • Shepherd applications through research management systems
  • Liaise with the Monash Research Office at all stages of the research lifecycle
  • Coordinate and run Faculty research events including MIPS Seminars, annual research symposia, and researcher training and development workshops
