About The Position

This position is for a Research and Development Engineer in Rochester Hills, MI. The role involves developing customizable automation tools and architecture for paint robotics. Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, documenting, and maintaining paint application automation tools and software. The engineer will also develop and conduct test plans, evaluate process and robot application performance, and consult with customers and integrators on paint application products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Robotic, or Electronics Engineering, or closely-related field
  • 2 years of experience developing and integrating software for embedded control systems using C and C++ in a Visual Studio environment
  • Experience designing & implementing test automation solutions using Python, Matlab and/or Karel
  • Experience drafting functional specifications, architecture & test plans to evaluate system performance and enhance controller development
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot real-time hardware & simulation discrepancies, ensuring alignment between simulated and actual performance metrics
  • Experience performing off-line programming for robotics systems & 3D simulation
  • Experience delivering products & test results through integrated development workflows using Git, Gitlab, and/or ClearCase
  • Experience creating controller manuals & technical documentation
