About The Position

The Research Analyst will work closely with other members of the Terrain function across American AgCredit, Farm Credit Services of America, and Frontier Farm Credit (the Associations) to provide thought leadership to customers, prospective customers, and association leadership. Terrain is a team of agricultural economists and analysts who provide expert insights and confident forecasting to the customers of Terrain’s partner Associations. Terrain analysts are inspired by Farm Credit’s mission to support U.S. agriculture and rural communities today and tomorrow. This role has a focus on field crops and agricultural inputs and the connectivity of these markets to adjacent and supporting agricultural markets. The Research Analyst will support these industries by generating original, data-driven research and engaging directly with customers at industry events and through participation in industry groups. The Research Analyst synthesizes data, market trends, and industry knowledge to identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities, connecting insights across the agricultural value chain to support customer decision-making and business growth, while creating a differentiated value proposition that helps the Associations retain and attract business. This position requires strong sector knowledge, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the capability to build credibility through research, modeling, forecasting, and storytelling. The ideal candidate is well‑connected across the field crop and input value chains, understands the interconnectedness of those systems to proteins and the rural economy, and can translate complex market dynamics into actionable insights for external audiences, while also supporting internal stakeholders as needed. Terrain has a strong collaborative team culture, and the Research Analyst will be expected to support and build that culture.
