About The Position

The Research Analyst is responsible for collaborating with the Director of Research on data collection (e.g., gathering survey data, performing secondary data analysis, conducting interviews), analyses, and reporting of results through peer-reviewed publications, internal dashboards, and reports to support the organizational priorities and mission of the Academy. Employing social science methods and analytic techniques, the Research Analyst will conduct statistical analyses, interpret, and present the results to internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent of this position must be able to effectively communicate research findings through clear and well-designed reports.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, research, problem solving, and project management skills are essential with the ability to identify issues and develop sound, practical and creative solutions.
  • Strong skills using the entire Microsoft Office Suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, documents and spreadsheets
  • Strong ability to use sound judgment, assimilate new information quickly, analyze complex problems, and take initiative.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, technical research findings in a way that is understandable to research novices.
  • Established ability to balance responsibilities for multiple time sensitive projects.
  • Minimum of Master’s degree in social science, biological sciences, public health or related fields, required; 5 or more years of directly relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
  • 3+ year of experience in managing research data sets, conducting descriptive analyses, and creating high quality, accurate data reports using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • 3+ year of experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., IBM SPSS, R) required; other statistical software may be substituted with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience developing dashboard with Tableau or Power BI desired.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method research projects.
  • Analyze data, identifying statistically significant interaction and/or sufficiently supported insights as appropriate for the research project design.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of surveys, questionnaires, and interview protocol, as needed, to support our department activities.
  • Produce meaningful ways to display and disseminate data through data visualization, effectively designed tables, and clear and concise written final reports
  • Take part in project development and execution of new initiatives from intake through reporting and reconciliations.
  • Use social science and market research methods such as surveys, focus groups/interviews, and secondary data analysis to collect, analyze and integrate data.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
