About The Position

The Brattle Group is seeking Research Analysts (RAs) to join our Washington DC office. As an RA, you will be an integral part of our project teams, collaborating with senior consultants and experts. Your responsibilities will involve building quantitative models and creating data-based solutions using programming languages like R, Python, Stata, SAS, Excel, and VBA. This includes conducting data and statistical analysis, econometric analysis, and building interactive dashboards. You will also perform qualitative research, including market analysis, literature reviews, and document examination, writing memos to support expert reports. Additionally, you will assist in preparing expert reports and presentations, helping experts communicate complex economic and financial concepts clearly. Effective communication and teamwork are critical as you collaborate with colleagues at all levels to develop robust and innovative solutions. In the METRICS practice, typical cases involve Antitrust & Competition (researching markets, evaluating competition restrictions, estimating damages), Consumer Protection and Product Liability (identifying misinformation effects, eliciting consumer value), and Telecom (analyzing competition, auctions, and mergers).

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. economics, computer science, data science, and mathematics), with strong academic performance.
  • Successful applicants typically have a GPA of 3.7 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale).
  • Great teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • A high degree of ownership and commitment.
  • Have completed or will complete a course in econometrics.
  • Have completed a significant, self-defined project using quantitative analysis and economic principles.
  • Can apply quantitative analysis and economic thinking to real-world cases during the interview process.

Responsibilities
