About The Position

This Research Aide student will assist in the maintenance, support, and creation of scientific software for the analysis of data from beamlines at the Advanced Photon Source. The work involves front-end and back-end software including graphical user interfaces, data processing and visualization, and data management using Python and other software engineering tools. This position will specifically focus on software development for data analysis tools for x-ray magnetic measurement data, adapting existing techniques, algorithms, and example software to extend an existing analysis application.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months.
Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Candidates may be required to complete pre-employment drug testing based on appointment length.
Must complete a satisfactory background check.
The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.

Responsibilities
