Research Aide - AMD - Kim, Sola

Argonne National LaboratoryLemont, IL

About The Position

The Student Research Aide (SRA) will contribute to the development of an AI-based advisory system designed to support the deployment of robotic systems in nuclear and hazardous environments. The system will focus on providing decision-making assistance in areas related to regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance. The advisory system will be built using a multi-agent Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) framework, integrating large language models (LLMs) with intelligent document retrieval mechanisms. The system will enhance decision accuracy and reliability through structured collaboration among specialized AI agents, addressing the known limitations of current LLMs in terms of consistency and adaptability. The SRA will collaborate closely with members of Argonne's Robotics and Remote Systems Group and external project partners to align development activities with current research goals and project requirements.
