Requirements
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email)
- Upperclassmen standing in Food & Nutrition, Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management, Agricultural Communications, or a related field
- Communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
- Willingness to travel overnight around the state
- Experience with or willingness to learn survey administration, focus groups, and qualitative research methods.
Responsibilities
- Assist with local foods, tourism, and food safety research that help with the goals of the Jay Kemmerer WORTH Institute and Food & Nutrition project “Fresh, Local, Safe: Elevating Farm-to-Table & Agritourism.”
- Assisting in administering surveys and focus groups
- Data entry
- Interpreting survey and interview data
- Cataloging agritourism operations
- Creating written and promotional materials
- Travel around the state to meet with key stakeholders
