The research aide will support the LDRD project Dr. XAS: AI for XAS Analysis, contributing to agentic computational workflows and prototype AI tools for X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The work will focus on building and curating XAS datasets and connecting experimental synchrotron measurements with theoretical simulations. The student may help research, organize, and run XAS simulations using theoretical and computational methods, including DFT-based approaches and related spectroscopy codes. The role also involves developing machine-learning and physics-aware AI models for spectral interpretation, building Python tools for data analysis and visualization, and creating agentic workflows to automate common XAS analysis and research tasks.
