About The Position
The CXFEL lab is looking for a Research/Laboratory Aide, Optical Simulations to make an optical design for the new photoinjector. The applicant should be highly qualified and ready to engage in much-needed optics simulations that will then translate to the final build.
Requirements
- High School Diploma; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Following lab safety standards.
Nice To Haves
- Previous coursework in optical engineering
- Previous experience in designing and simulations
Responsibilities
- Develop Zemax simulations of the relay imaging and demagnification of objects defined by aperturing and shaping of the UV and Green laser beam profiles.
- Evaluate the impact of lens apertures, windows, edges, and obstruction of the quality of image.
- Calculate the final image 3D profile for optimal electron bunch generation.
- Collaboration with the laser team.
- Participating in meetings.
- Regular reporting to the supervisor.
Benefits
- The salary range is $20.38 - $23.50 per hour, depending on experience.
