About The Position

The University of Pennsylvania, a world-renowned leader in education, research, and innovation and the largest private employer in Philadelphia, is seeking a highly-motivated Research Administrative Coordinator. This role is situated within the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy, providing administrative and research support to a preeminent professor in the Perelman School of Medicine for their research, teaching, and speaking responsibilities. The coordinator will coordinate research administrative activities, prepare documentation, assist with data entry, tracking, and reporting, and support compliance requirements. Key aspects include participating in research meetings, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the preparation and dissemination of research outputs such as reports and manuscripts. The position also involves conducting research using various methods, proofreading and editing speeches and course materials, and providing background research for media appearances. Additionally, the coordinator will compile and analyze data, organize academic research material, update existing content, handle copyright queries, obtain usage rights for materials, and manage phone and email correspondence. This role serves as the primary liaison for students, faculty, and external speakers and contributes to course content for both existing and online courses. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively, take direction and critical feedback, and multi-task effectively to meet tight deadlines. Requirements

  • High School Grad/GE Degree, Bachelor of Science, and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Expertise to comprehend and manage complex scientific information
  • Technical writing skills needed to transform research data/information into accurate, understandable publications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates research administrative activities in support of investigators and project leaders
  • Prepares documentation
  • Assists with data entry, tracking, and reporting
