About The Position

Everforth ECS is seeking a Requirements Writer / Business Analyst to work in our Merrifield, VA office. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across various business units and IT to identify, document, and manage functional and technical requirements for new systems, processes, and enhancements. The ideal candidate will translate complex business needs into clear, concise, and actionable specifications for development and project teams, ensuring solutions align with organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (typically 3-5+ years) working as a Business Analyst, Requirements Analyst, or Technical Writer in a project environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable language for a non-technical audience.
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps), process modeling software (e.g., Visio, VersionOne), and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate meetings with stakeholders and partners to gather, analyze, and validate business and user requirements.
  • Create detailed requirements specifications, functional design documents, process models (using tools like Visio), use cases, and user stories.
  • Document and analyze current state business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, project managers, and technical development/QA teams, ensuring clear communication and shared understanding of requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and prototype potential solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and obtaining stakeholder sign-off.
  • Assist in defining testing strategies, developing test cases, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect validation.
  • Manage changes to requirements through a formal change management process, assessing the impact on the project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Support the development and maintenance of high-quality end-user manuals, training materials, and support documentation as needed.
