This position is responsible for gathering patient demographic and financial information and entering it into the computer system. The role involves assigning patient rooms, preparing necessary documentation, and transporting or escorting patients to their assigned areas. The Patient Access Representative will also handle telephone inquiries, process bed assignments, order stat cleans, and ensure appropriate communication with the house supervisor. They will inform patients of hospital regulations, secure armbands, obtain necessary signatures, and make determinations regarding the need for a hospital-issued Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN waiver). Additionally, the role includes scanning all required documents such as physician orders, driver's licenses, insurance cards, and consents, as well as pre-registering scheduled tests. Adherence to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures, along with compliance to HIPAA and EMTALA regulations, is crucial.
