We are seeking a Reporting & Technical Writer who can transform complex information into clear, useful documentation and reports. This role supports a mission to keep an enterprise AI platform well-documented and its data governance clear for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Requirements

A bachelor's degree.
2+ years in technical writing, documentation, or reporting.
Genuinely strong writing and editing skills (clear, concise, and organized).
Comfort with documentation and reporting tools (e.g., Confluence, Word).
An eye for detail and the ability to simplify complex information.

Nice To Haves

Experience with 508-compliant documentation or federal reporting.
Familiarity with data governance or technical/AI subject matter.
Previous experience supporting CMS or another federal agency.

Responsibilities

Support CMS by documenting its enterprise AI platform and data governance.
Produce and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user guides, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation tailored to the audience.
Build and format recurring reports to make platform and data-governance activity easy to follow.
Ensure documentation adheres to Section 508 and plain-language standards.
Organize documentation and reporting to create a central source of truth.
